Job Description:Executive PastorPosition SummarySeeking an Executive Pastor for Mandarin Presbyterian Church (ECO) in Jacksonville, Florida with over 1,400 members. The position reports to a dynamic Senior Pastor. The successful candidate will oversee finance, human resources, communications, marketing, technology, support staff and facilities. The person must be able to turn the church’s vision into action.  Provide leadership, management of the church’s administrative resources, and develop sophisticated management systems for growth.   
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Support the Senior Pastor in accomplishing the church’s mission by overseeing the church’s operations.
  • Oversee and manage staff with responsibilities spanning finance, facilities, human resources, communications, technology, and other support activities. Provide leadership and coaching establishing goals and monitoring performance.
  • Responsible for managing the annual budget of approximately $2.3MM.
  • Facilitate strategic planning.
  • Evaluate and oversee the implementation of church management systems to increase membership, stewardship and service in support of the church’s mission.
  • Develop projects and systems to mobilize lay leadership and congregation into active participants in the church’s mission.
  • Activities anticipated include identification and inventory of individual congregation member’s skills, gifts, and talents; team building; project management; relationship building; and coordination of various activities toward the common mission.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Master’s degree preferred, pastoral ordination is a plus.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in a senior leadership position at a large church or in a corporate business environment.
  • Proven track record of effective leadership, judgement, and character rooted in strong Christian beliefs.
  • Experience with Church Community Builder (CCB), Planning Center, or other church management software.
  • High level background of financial knowledge with a full understanding of budgeting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A leader able to create a collaborative and congenial work environment.
